Upgrading to 2.3.0+ from an earlier version

Follow the below instructions carefully if you want to take full advantage of the new system extension for Elevate24. It is strongly advised to test the uprgade before rolling out to production.

• If you install version 2.3.0 without setting UseSystemExtension to true, the older privilege helper will still be installed, and the system will continue to function as it always has.

• If you want to take advantage of the new system extension, UseSystemExtension must be set to true. If this is enabled, the new extension will be installed. If the installation fails, errors will be displayed. If you have the key EnableSessionMonitoring, an additional check will be performed to ensure Elevate24 has the ability to collect data.

• Review the System Extension documention for instructions on how to enable the system extension.

• Disable SelfProtectionRules for the upgrade to 2.3.0+. This can be re-enabled after the upgrade to protect the Elevate24 database.

• If you take advantage of the new system extension, the extension identifier has changed to com.jigsaw24.Elevate24Extension please see Privacy Prefereces Policy Control for guidance.

Elevate24 supports the latest version of macOS and the previous two major versions. (N-2)
